ITW – “Le Casier” in Bayonne
_
Located in the heart of Bayonne downtown, a little shop offers a selection of men’s clothing in old industrial lockers. “Le Casier” (locker in english) is run by the friendly Yvan, who has a strong taste for original and trendy brands, as OLOW. We have asked some questions to the shop’s owner, to which he has answered with pleasure…
Hi Yvan ! First of all, how did your project « Le Casier » come to be? When did this adventure all begin?
Le Casier was born in 2012 with the desire to offer something outside the box: fashionable menswear at affordable prices.
Why “Le Casier”? Does the name have a particular meaning?
The name “Le Casier” is a reference to the industrial locker {“casier” in French} that I found when decorating the shop. It’s also a nod to the clothing style.

What do clients look for at “Le Casier”?
A selection of clothes that have not been widely distributed yet, pieces that mix well with one another and client guidance, all in a friendly atmosphere.
_
What would you say a man should definitely have in his locker?
A well-cut pair of jeans, a nice shirt and this season’s GLOSTER jacket from OLOW!
_
_
What do you expect from the brands you work with?
I look for impeccable quality, an ethical approach and creativity.
_
Why only offer menswear? Would you ever consider broadening your range to include womenswear?
Not right now, no, there’s still a lot to do for men.

_
What places and events would you recommend to us for a weekend in Bayonne?
I would go to the Hotel des Basses Pyrénées, have lunch at Kitchen Dada, followed by a shopping trip in the town’s historic centre where there’s a multitude of independent shops, then have diner at Chez Martin before heading to La Luna Negra (Café Théâtre).

What’s on your playlist at Le Casier right now?
La Femme and Sofi TUKKER.
