Artist series : Marynn (Part 2)
6 months after our first collaboration Marynn decided to work a second time with us for our collection « Memories Remain ». These last months were rather eventful for her because she had some cool projects, perfect moment to check what ‘s new.
Hello Marynn, let’s go for the part 2 of your interview so you can let us know what’s new since last time…
We’ll begin with a pretty new info: your exhibition at the Barbershop, Paris! Can you explain us shortly?
Well, on afternoon I got a phone call from TYRSA who told me ” Would be interested in an exhibition with TIZIEU at the BARBERSHOP in January?”, and I was like a little girl, jumping and screaming all over “yes, yes, yes!”.
At the beginning I thought I could draw my friends, the people who helped me to become who I am, each one as an ingredient of a burger. There were all ok with that, even when the egg yolk was flowing into their eyes. I was glad I made it with Tizieu. I love his illustrations!
It is kind of crazy doing my first exhibition with 21, particularly knowing that the people I worked with were really nice to me. Thanks again to “L’attrape rêve”, Alexis & the team of the BARBERSHOP.
What can we eat up there? Which is your favorite meal at the BARBERSHOP?
I had no time to check. One thing I know: their jaggerbombs are really strong.
What did you work on the last 6 months?
I made illustrations for the product line “Noel gourmand” of YVES ROCHER published in the magazine CITIZEN K of December, and I made some cynical and depressive drawings for me. But I swear, one day I’ll do a colorful and glittering drawing.
Concerning the collaboration with OLOW, you did two great designs. Can you tell us more?
When Valentin & Mathieu explained me about the spirit of the collection, I was totally enthusiastic. I had the opportunity to do something I am not really used to: tough guys, far away from my girly universe.
It was a pleasure drawing this old little man, with its bottle of jack. It is now one of my favorite drawings.
Having a look at your news, you might have met some artists you would like to work with? Any collaboration planed?
There are so many talented people nowadays, every day I discover someone I would like to marry! First I try to clean my flat, after that I’ll check the collabs.
Is there something/someone you love and you would like to talk about?
I can’t give just one, things are going so fast for me these days. I met so many new people I never thought I will see for real. Recently I really loved the work of Ugo Gattoni, Marianne Ratier (who had an exhibition at the BARBERSHOP before me), Guim Tiò, Pat Perry, Cheeky Booom … I spend my time searching for new talents on the internet and I am never disappointed.
Any information about what is coming for the next weeks?
Always keep surprises, if you want some info, give me money.
I read that music was your main source of inspiration. To finish this interview, can you tell us what are you listening to currently?
Anne Horel, because I want my neighbor to understand that she should move and fast!
