UKNW SOUNDS : ANGEL HAZE (USA)
America gives us a daily flood of timeless artists that abandon the bubble of the American dream. Another fallen angel from Detroit gives us the pleasure to report on how good it is to live in this time space. The alive soul, cheeky (or show off) hidden Queen behind Angel Haze gives us her open lungs and delivers a squeaky and dirty beat’n’rap sound overflowing with insanity for the delectable weak.
The love of provocation is just as much as that of interest, which could bring more disgust than surprise. Our first impression is good;however we want more, desperately cleaving in the torment, to feed our dedicated customs. To this point, Angel Haze is not a ground breaker. On the flip side, it has avoided the immense American promotion for such artists. So we could have some doubts, but we don’t, this is not a marketing product…at least not for now.
Like a hip/hop Queen, she delivers, breathes, delivers, breathes … And we shout victory! Her flow is impressive, serious and mastered. Think MIA and Nicki Minaj. Musically, the beats and metallic electro sounds are consistent with the ‘U.S Rap’ chart. There’s an eternal recurring theme of sex, drugs, money, other bitches and motherfuckers. Any other theme of course and we would have been surprised. (See her excellent track New York and Werkin Girls) Thevulgarity doesn’t stop either in her version of I Love You with Woodkid. (ici). Long live the Queen!
